A figure who needs little introduction to fans of the genre, but whose consistency in the studio and on the road has repeatedly marked him out as true pioneer of sound design and performance with a singular vision, Luke Slater first minted the Planetary Assault Systems alias in ’93. Since then, a slew of singles and LP’s from the industrious artist have made sure Planetary Assault Systems has become a byword for hypnotic, funk-heavy Techno in a purist tradition. Toeing the line between heady, psychedelic material and all-out main room fare.
Slater’s latest release as Planetary Assault Systems came out mid-October on Belgian Techno label “Token” by the acclaimed Kr!z.
Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more dark, rawer sound of techno. Artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon & James Ruskin had a major influence on him in the 90s. They helped to define his musical taste and develop his own identity in the Techno scene. Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-DJ for Belgium’s legendary techno night ‘Kozzmozz’, his DJ-schedule now takes him all over the world.
