Ampere welcomes with open arms the magnificent Octo Octa and her good friend Russell E.L. Butler for a wonderful evening celebrating love, diversity and freedom. Supported by top-class selectors in the name of Zouzibabe & Sixsixsixties.
Octo Octa has been one of the most notable underground house producers of the 2010s. Debuting in the early years of the decade with smooth, hazy releases for 100% Silk, including the 2013 full-length Between Two Selves, she gradually developed a more breakbeat-heavy sound, as displayed on releases such as 2019’s Reasonant Body. Additionally, she founded the T4T LUV NRG label with her partner, Eris Drew, and the two frequently co-produced tracks and DJed together. From Horst Festival to the main Stage of Dekmantel, Octo Octa has been demolishing dance floors all around the globe. High-energy underground house, speed garage and some turntablism tricks, her style is a trusted source for dance floor euphoria. Joining her is Russell E.L. Butler, an artist based in New York who’s works have taken the form of vinyl records, digital audio releases, live A/V performances, and special archiving projects. For Russell music isn’t just a platform for the political. It’s a world-building project in itself, a way of manifesting the utopia you believe in- or at least it can be, when done right. More than just a vehicle for a message, music can actually carve out an ideal space for community.
