Ampere would like to look back at a very special, sometimes twisted, 2015.. We’d like to toast with you to a new year full of great music, events, artists, friends, love, peace and the best crowd we can think of.
We’ve been thinking hard and long at the about how we should program this special night. So we decided to bring back some artists that rocked the Ampere floor so hard that nobody could stand still and we added some local acts that can always count on respect and love from the Antwerp crowd.. So expect only quality and non stop dance floor action to the sweetest beats.
We’re going on a extended mission way beyond the rising of the sun. Untill the last man stands.
Tickets: €20 (check out package deals with hotel stay and champagne)
CESAR MERVEILLE (Cadenza, Aether), FR
Dance music was always meant to be about having fun. It’s an ethos that has not escaped Cesar Merveille, the Paris-born enchanter whose ascent through the ranks of European house and techno has been powered by an irrepressible joie de vivre matched only by a desire to be challenged by everything that he does. Constantly feeding off his environment for inspiration, “food for the mind” as he calls it, Cesar’s unbridled energy finds him operating both as a world-class DJ performing to thousands and as a boutique artist embracing invention whilst forever committed to his grounding principle of music as pleasure.
AUDIO WERNER (Perlon, Minibar, Hartchef Discos), DE
I am sure very little introduction is needed when one hears the name ‘Audio Werner’. With a history of house which spans over 2 decades, Andreas Werner has been a great contribution to underground electronic music not only as a producer and live performer but also as a Dj. Having created the label ‘Hartchef Discos’ with friends in 2004 he subsequently has produced many as unique as timeless releases. Since “Zwrtshak Drive” hit the clubs, Audio Werner started getting many requests to play DJ- and Livesets, many of the early ones in Berlin, a city he now calls home since. From then on he released not only on his own imprint Hartchef but also on the highly respected label Perlon with ‘Onandon’ / ‘Base’ in 2006 and later ‘Couched’ on the current ‘Superlongevity’ Compilation. Furthermore, his music can be found on labels such as Minibar, Hello?Repeat, or Story- just to name a few. His most recent output earlier in 2014 was a jazzy approach on dubby housemusic he released on Finest Hour Recordings was a huge success and the fact it was sold out in less than one week speaks for itself.
MAKAM (Amulett, Sushitech), NL
Born and raised in The Hague on the Dutch coast, Makam grew up with electronic music. With his family and friends being a constant factor of new musical input, Makam decided to take musical matters into his own hands. A fortunate decision, as he had struck a creative nerve that revealed his raw talent. Emerging himself in music, he mastered the art of music production and found his own unique style.
ARIL BRIKHA – Live (Kompakt, Poker Flat), IL
In 1998 Aril Brikha reacquainted the world with deep techno soul, as his record Groove La Chord crossed generic boundaries. Is it techno? Is it house? Is it deep house? It’s everything and nothing. Groove La Chord is simply timeless. No one was more surprised about the success of Groove La Chord than Brikha himself – after all, he’d originally presented it on his demo as a potential B-side. Two years after he recorded Groove La Chord, Brikha heard it in a club for the first time – Derrick May pulled it out in Chicago. Aril then realised it was a good track. The renegade always walks alone.
