Time flies when you’re having fun! It feels like just yesterday that we landed at Ampere for our first Soulful Sessions. Today we’re almost one year further in time, and we can almost blow out our first candle. That calls for a celebration right?

On September 28th we will set up camp where it all started: Antwerp’s beloved nightlife temple Ampere for Soulful Sessions – One Year Anniversary.

Damiano von Erckert (DE)

Damiano Von Erckert has put out EPs/ remixes and collaborations with artists such as Mall Grab, Retrogott, Tito Wun AM Kinem, mainly through his own label AVA. RECORDS. Besides this von Erckert has released 4 full studio albums so far. His debut LP in collaboration with Tito Wun entitled ‘Mr. Pink What Have You Been Smoking?’ came in 2013, the internationally successful ‘Love Based Music’ soon followed, containing a remix by another friend by the name of Motor City Drum Ensemble.

Other DJ staples by Damiano/AVA. are ‘Housem 1’ (2012), Housem III’ (2016), ‘Bubbles’ (2015), Tito Wun’s ‘The Way U Do It’ (2013), Panoramabar classic Murat Tepeli ‘Forever’ (Prosumer Remix) (2013), Mall Grab’s ‘I’ll Be In Paris On Sunday If You’re About?’ (2017) and other renowned records by German artists Retrogott and Am Kinem.

Damiano is considered a funky, disco-ish DJ and artist which he does not agree on and he feels misunderstood. Some are more well-known work might be a sample, organic based but there’s plenty of deep, electronic music made and played out by DVE. He wants to focus more on ‘dance’ than any other generic title.

Waxist (FR)

An eclectic selection, made of well-kept secrets as well as of timeless classics, this is what Waxist strives to propose in his DJ sets.
DJ & record collector based in Lyon, France, Waxist started his love story with records as a teenager when he bought his first reggae 7 inches. His love for Jamaican music has survived through the years, but the DJ has progressively extended his interests to different, more dancefloor-oriented music genres. Disco, Modern Soul, Boogie and even a touch of House when needed… Being careful with the technique, as well as with the coherency of his selection, his sets are an invite to a dancing musical journey taking the audience from Disco to Modern Soul, through more Caribbean or Brazilian sounds.

Bibi Seck (BE)

Bibi Seck is a 21-year-old dj and producer hailing from Antwerp, Belgium. Despite her young age, she has been making clubs all over Europe drip sweat from their ceilings with her energetic, funky sets that are sure to jam-pack the dance floor instantly. Expect a lot of Brazillian and exotic sounds from this boss woman.

Lil Lawaw (BE)

Lil’ Lawaw, one of the Vice City Residents is a real house head who loves the funky stuff. After playing at Dimensions Festival and Extrema Outdoor, sharing stages with Antal, Pender Street Steppers, Dan Shake, Jamie 3:26 and Nick the record it’s time to open our first anniversary back-to-back with Bibi Seck.
