On 23 October, Ampere joins RAWAX in celebrating 15 years of the imprint by welcoming the legendary Ricardo Villalobos. A defining figure in electronic music whose influence has shaped entire generations of club culture, while remaining deliberately hard to pin down, both in sound and in presence. A name that sits outside cycles and scenes, carrying its own gravity without ever fully resolving into definition.
Ricardo Villalobos’ work as both DJ and producer follows a single internal logic that refuses separation. Across decades, releases, edits, and extended performances form one continuous practice: ideas stretched, dissolved, reintroduced, and reshaped over time. In the booth as in the studio, he avoids fixed outcomes in favour of processes that stay in motion, where detail, imbalance, and restraint become part of the same language rather than separate disciplines.
Ampere was built with artists like Ricardo in mind: spaces where long-form thinking, patience, and unpredictability could exist without compromise. Now, with the closing chapter approaching, this moment reads as something quietly circular rather than exceptional.
