Zip aka Dimbiman aka Thomas Franzmann, co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. In 1997 he and Marcus Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee), and Narcotic Syntax. Perlon is the label that set the foundations for click house and minimal house as we know it today featuring artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Baby Ford, Mathew Johnson, Cassy, and Chez Damier to name a few.
Zip is also known as one of the pioneering deejays’ favorite DJ and selectors and we are very proud to have him at Ampere for a long set with support by two great artists from the Perlon record stable named Fumiya Tanaka en Vera.
Vera is a gifted selector with flawless technique. Playing records in the way she does takes skill, yet the casual observer might not realize just how much. It’s an ego-free method that puts music above showmanship. As a resident of the Robert Johnson Club in Offenbach. As a producer, Vera released music on respected labels like Perlon, Oslo, Hello? Repeat – solo works as well as collaborations with Ricardo Villalobos, Federico Molinari, and Maayan Nidam, under the moniker Mara Trax. Since 2011 Vera lives and works in Berlin, where she’s hosting regular nights at her favorite Berlin music spot, Club der Visionäre.
Fumiya Tanaka has released Four 12 inch singles and Two albums on the infamous Perlon label which is run by Zip and Marcus Nikolai, Chris Rehberger. Other remix works have been done for Brawther, Vlad Caia, Nastia to name but a few. He acts as a Unit, Dartriix with Yoshihiro Hanno, Tofu Production with Thomas Melchior. Through his long career over 25 years as a DJ and a track maker, Fumiya Tanaka has been the most prolific artist on the front line of the electric music scene. His signature DJ style unfolds in simultaneous response between the sound with solid groove and the dance floor is extraordinary.
